Erwin Neumann becomes a retiree

“Lebbe geht weider”

Life goes on

These words from Dragoslav Stepanovic, a bartender, soccer player and coach of Eintracht Frankfurt as well as a philosoph, perfectly describe our former colleague Erwin Neumann. Born in Hessen, he is not only a fan of Eintracht Frankfurt, he also occasionally proved that life indeed does go on.
It was noticeable at a very early stage that although Erwin Neumann would not re-invent the wheel, his life would nevertheless be determined by tyres, rims and wheels. He successfully completed an apprenticeship as an electrical mechanic, which he absolved in a company working in the testing area. He was very quickly fascinated by the complex subject of turning wheels.
People who know him understand that once he is fascinated by a subject, he will not give up before understanding each and every detail. Surely testing and measuring are two subjects which intrigued Erwin Neumann. So it was just a logical step for him to use the difficult times in the beginning of the nineties to establish his own company together with three colleagues. Believing in the slogan “Life goes on”. For all four founders it was obvious to stay in the field of measuring and testing equipment for tyres, rims and wheels. Life indeed went on, and so in 2007 they decided to move to Bremen and establish inmess. From the very beginning, high standards concerning the machines as well as customer satisfaction were characteristic for inmess, and this still applies for inmess today.

inmess was founded in Bremen, and therefore Erwin Neumann also moved. He found a new home – never losing his roots. Today he still follows the up and downs of Eintracht Frankfurt. At the same time he is glad to see inmess bloom. In 2012 MKon took over inmess. Sven Herzog, the new owner, immediately made Jakob M. Hess the new managing director. His task is to further establish the company and to develop new markets. He is fully supported by Erwin Neumann adding his technical expertise. To keep the immense knowledge concerning measuring and testing in the company, new colleagues were hired already in 2013. They had to undergo an intense training by Erwin Neumann on tyres, rims and wheels. At the same time all products were modernised and optimised. This allows inmess to offer not only state of the art products, but to even define them.

Parallel Erwin Neumann used his experience to support Dr. Volker Kebbel in building up the new business unit optical measurement technology. Adding this unit enables inmess not only to offer additional solutions in the wheel industry, but also to develop individual solutions for customers in the automotive industry.

Having done all this, Erwin Neumann knows that he leaves inmess in a good condition. inmess is well prepared for the upcoming tasks in the years to come. And indeed: on March 1st, 2015, Erwin Neumann will become a retiree. But he would not be himself, if he did not stay in his beloved area. And so he will continue working for inmess as a technical consultant.

Still believing in the slogan “life goes on – Lebbe geht weider”.
